What is Hype Baseball & Softball? Hype is a travel organization based in Fortville, Indiana, dedicated to developing youth athletes. We focus on sharpening technical skills, building confidence, and instilling core values like discipline and teamwork through competitive play and mentorship.

Where is Hype located? Our home fields and indoor training facility are located in Fortville, IN. We proudly serve athletes from across Central Indiana, including Fishers, Pendleton, Noblesville, Indianapolis, Fortville, and surrounding communities.

What is the "Be Better Performance Lab"? We partner with Be Better Performance Lab to provide our teams with an indoor space for team practices and specialized development sessions.

How are players selected for teams? Players are selected through an annual tryout process where coaches evaluate skill levels, attitude, and athletic potential. We look for players who are committed to growth and sportsmanship.

When do tryouts take place? Tryouts typically occur in late summer (July) for the upcoming fall and spring seasons. Follow our facebook page to receive updates.

What age groups do you offer? We offer various age-level teams for both baseball and softball. For the 2025/2026 season, we have 12 baseball teams (8U–13U) and 6 softball teams (8U–16U).

What does the time commitment look like? Travel sports require a high level of commitment.

• Fall & Winter: Teams typically practice 1x a week with occasional scrimmages and 1–3 tournaments.
• Spring: Teams typically practice 2x per week and compete in tournaments on weekends. Specific schedules vary by coach and age group.

Do you play in the fall or just the spring? We offer programming for both. Fall is generally focused on development and local scrimmages/tournaments, while the spring season serves as our primary competitive window.

Where can I buy Hype gear? Official Hype apparel and required practice gear can be purchased through our online store (in drop down menu), partnered with local apparel company 539 Apparel.

How long does apparel take to arrive? Orders are typically ready for shipping or local pickup within approximately 2–3 weeks from the order date.

How much does it cost to play for Hype? Player fees vary by age group and the specific tournament schedule of the team. For the current season, our team fees averaged out to be around $1500 . Younger developmental teams typically fell below that and older more competitive teams were above that.

What is included in the team fees? Your fees are comprehensive and cover the essentials for a successful season, including:

• Tournament entry fees
• Indoor facility access at the Be Better Performance Lab
• Player insurance
• Field rentals
• Administrative overhead

Is the uniform included in the registration fee? Typically, uniform packages are handled separately. This allows families to order specific sizes and ensures that returning players only pay for the pieces they actually need each year.

Does the organization offer fundraising to help with costs?  Absolutely. We take a "families-first" approach to fundraising, ensuring that the proceeds directly benefit our members. Our two biggest fundraising options—the Annual Hype Fun Run and our team sponsorship program—combined to raise $65,000 for our families during the 2025/2026 season. In addition to these primary drivers, teams have the opportunity to participate in local efforts like "Dine to Donate" nights to further reduce individual costs. 

Does the organization keep a percentage of fundraising money? No. At Hype, 100% of all fundraising money goes directly back to the families. The organization does not keep any portion of these funds; every dollar raised by a player or team is used to directly offset their specific season costs, travel expenses, or uniform fees.

Are payment plans available? Yes. We offer structured payment plans that allow you to spread the total cost over several months to make the investment more manageable for your family.

What is the refund policy? Because funds are immediately committed to tournament deposits, insurance, and facility overhead once a roster spot is accepted, fees are generally non-refundable.
